Amarillo—The 13
th annual Shiraz for a Cause to benefit the Bishop DeFalco Retreat Center is set for Saturday, Aug. 6 from 7:00pm to 10:30pm in the courtyard at the Retreat Center, 2100 North Spring.
Tickets are $50 per person and sponsorships are still available, according to BDRC executive director Linda Astuto.
The evening will include heavy hors d’oeuvres, a wine raffle, live and silent auctions, casino tables, a wine pull and music by Patrick Swindell and Pizzazz.
The event will also include the grand opening of Gallery at DeFalco, featuring art from Hereford artist Randy Friemel.
Friemel has also provided an original piece of art for the Live Auction. Other items include:
• Jewelry from Graham Brothers Jewelry;
• A Guided Quail or Turkey Hunt;
• Dinner for eight at the home of Dr. Steve and Linda Astuto, with special guest Bishop Patrick J. Zurek; and
• A Skeet Shoot and Prime Rib Dinner for eight at the home of Cheri and Donald DeJong.
Tours of the DeFalco Retreat Center will be offered throughout the evening and the gift shop will be open from 7:00 to 10:00.
“We invite everyone to experience the peaceful ambiance of the Bishop DeFalco Retreat Center and to meet our staff,” said Linda Astuto.
Wine donations for Shiraz for a Cause are being accepted Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, through Friday, Aug. 5. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Bishop DeFalco Retreat Center. Reservations can be made by calling the BDRC at 383-1811 or by going online to www.bdrc.org/shiraz.
