Sacraments Of Healing Course To Be Offered in November

Amarillo—Four opportunities remain to take the course on the Sacraments of Healing, according to Sister María Elena Ferrer, SSND, Coordinator of the Diocesan Office of Faith Formation.

While catechists in the Diocese of Amarillo are encouraged to take advantage of this on-going Faith Formation opportunity, the course is open to everyone wishing to attend, which are being offered throughout the Diocese of Amarillo this fall.

All presentations will be taught from 9:30am to 12:30pm, according to Sister María Elena.

The course on the Sacraments of Healing will be offered:
• Saturday, Nov. 4, in English and Spanish for the Central Deanery, in the Conference Center at the Diocesan Pastoral Center, 4512 NE 24^th Ave., in Amarillo. Sister María Elena Ferrer will facilitate the English course, while Father Victor Hugo Andrade, parochial administrator at St. Joseph’s Church, Stratford, and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Cactus, will be the instructor for the Spanish course; and,
• Saturday, Nov. 18, in English and Spanish for the South Deanery, at San Jose Church, 735 Brevard, in Hereford. Deacon Brian Lewis and his wife Cindy of St. Ann’s Church, Canyon, will teach the English portion, with Rosa María Zanetti serving as instructor for the Spanish course.

“There is no charge for this course,” said Sister María Elena. “All catechists in the Diocese of Amarillo who need this segment are expected to attend. We want to particularly encourage catechists who need this one segment to complete their basic certification to attend. We ask that participants bring a pen and pad and choose a date that is convenient to them. Make plans to attend this course and receive your certificate of attendance.”
