Nine Catholics in the Diocese of Amarillo have completed the eight courses of the Faith Formation Basic Course, according to Sister Janet M. Abbacchi, SSND, Coordinator of Faith Formation for the Diocese of Amarillo.
The Faith Formation Basic Course was comprised of eight courses:
• Introduction to the Scriptures;
• Prayer—The Four Types of Prayer;
• Morality;
• The Sacraments of Initiation;
• The Sacraments of Healing;
• The Liturgy;
• The Trinity, the Community of God; and,
• The Ministry of Catechesis.
Completing the course were:
• Evelyn Detten and Karla Neusch, both of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Amarillo;
• Aloise Martin of Sacred Heart Church, White Deer;
• Feliciana Moya of St. Paul the Apostle Church, Kress;
• Sandra Swopes and Farron Urbanczyk, both of St. Anthony’s Church, Hereford;
• Antonio and Evangelina Villalobos, both of San Jose Church, Hereford; and,
• Carolyn Wilhelm of Holy Family Church, Nazareth.
Thirty-four people in the diocese have now completed the Faith Formation Basic Course, which began in the Fall of 2009.
“Congratulations to the Catechists who have completed the Basic Courses for Faith Formation,” said Sister Janet.
Certificates will be presented to those completing the Faith Formation Basic Course during the Sunday, Sept. 21 Catechetical Sunday Masses.
