Bishop Patrick J. Zurek will preside at a Memorial Mass, with the priests of the Diocese of Amarillo concelebrating, for Pope Francis at 6:30pm on Wednesday April 30 at St. Mary’s Cathedral.

Three parishes in the Diocese of Amarillo have announced plans to celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday.

Pope Francis passed away at 7:35am local time (12:35am, Amarillo time) on Easter Monday, April 21, at his residence in the Vatican’s Casa Santa Marta, as confirmed by the Holy See Press Office. The 88-year-old pontiff led the Catholic Church for a little more than 12 years.

Parishes in the Diocese of Amarillo have announced their schedules for the Triduum—Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday, Thursday, April 17 to Sunday, April 20.
