"The promotion of the practice of stewardship is important for the mission of the Church and for the spiritual well-being of each individual Christian. Everyone benefits from the sacrificial gift one makes of his time, talent and treasure. Therefore, please accept my encouragement for your efforts and my prayers that your upcoming conference will be a stimulus to the practice of stewardship in the Church."
— His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI
The Kenedy Memorial Foundation has generously awarded the Diocese of Amarillo with a $241,000 grant which has been distributed among many diocesan ministries for fiscal year 2008-2009. Since 1993, The Kenedy Memorial Foundation has funded several programs and projects of the Diocese of Amarillo. We are very grateful for their kind support of our wonderful diocese.
The Kenedy Memorial Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable purposes.
Founded in 1961 by Sarita Kenedy East, granddaughter of Mifflin Kenedy and Petra Vela Kenedy, the foundation has donated more than $160 million to charitable causes and organizations in Texas. In South Texas, where the majority of its contributions have been made, the foundation is one of the major charity contributors.
